Labour fails: How to prepare for the possibility of a difficult labour

18 Mar 2013 / 0 Comments / in Pregnancy/by admin

ID-100138563As much as we’d all like to hope that our birth is carried off without a hitch, the reality is that there are often complications and difficulties during the labour process. The good news is that by researching and understanding more about what can go wrong, you’ll be better prepared to manage and handle whatever challenges your labour throws your way.

Preparing for labour

Maybe you have the impression that once your labour bell rings that you’ll put on a comfy dressing gown, roll into the hospital, sneeze lightly and then little junior will sail smoothly out into the bright, exciting world. ID-1009943-1Hurrah! It has been confirmed; a brand new bouncing baby is arriving soon at your place! The excitement is thick in the air and you can’t wait to meet the newest member of your family. But before you do, there is one slight hurdle that you have to overcome:

Childbirth

Enough to send shivers through the spines of any female worldwide; childbirth is probably the least favourite part of the pregnancy process. And since they haven’t yet figured out a way to get the stork to drop off the baby, the delivery still rests, unfortunately, well and truly within your hands.

The good news is that there are a variety of birthing methods (including homebirth, waterbirth, Calm Birth and Hypnobirth) to choose from, so you are more likely to find one that suits your needs.

This article will walk you through a brief summary of the different birth methods available so you feel better equipped, more knowledgeable and better able to choose the right method for you. Read more →

Hubby has been cluckier for baby #2, more so than most women trying for their first baby! He would have had a second baby when Addi was 6 months old I am pretty sure! That isn’t such a bad thing, for him. But I am the one home each day and have the responsibility of carrying and raising both of the children. Read more →

31 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in Babies Health, Pregnancy/by admin
