BabyButton at a Glance!

I don’t know about you but my journey into motherhood has been a beautiful, life-enhancing experience and also a lesson in being completely unprepared! During pregnancy I bought the cot, the nappies, the baby blankets, toys…the list goes on and on. Once Addison, my gorgeous little girl, had arrived I soon realized that there were so many situations where I still felt completely unsure & yes, unprepared. Leaky bibs anyone?

One of the immediate problems I faced as a new mum was how uncomfortable I felt breastfeeding in public. I hated the feeling of being exposed and this in turn led me to not being as confident as I should have been which, in turn affected the intimate bonding time with my daughter. I looked around for a solution but couldn’t find a cover that not only allowed complete coverage whilst nursing, but also enabled me to keep an eye on her whilst she was feeding. So, as an avid sewer, I made myself a cover exactly in the shape and form I needed. I used it at my mother’s group and was constantly being asked where I had bought it. They were disappointed when they realized that I had made it by hand and could not buy a similar design. Naturally, I started to make a few more and then a few more. Out of the demand my life changed a second time and BabyButton was born.

Back to the leaky bibs! I had also become increasingly frustrated with bibs that constantly leaked so I also began making larger, more absorbent, durable bibs in fashionable fabrics. The development of the BabyButton product list grew as I discovered new things I needed to make my life easier as a mum. I designed and made trendy burp cloths and soft washable breastfeeding pads. I also went on to make a range of baby tag-along-blankets which provide atactile security for our little ones – mine sleeps so much longer now she has hers, enough said!

I am so proud of this natural progression of product design at BabyButton, each has been inspired by my own journey through motherhood. Attention to detail is paramount and I source the highest quality materials whilst keeping the products affordable. I have also made sure that whist making them practical, which we need, they are still fashionable, which is what we all want.
